CHALLENGE

To assist the University in establishing new standards for their window treatments in the dormitories and classrooms that would provide an effective level of light control, privacy and would reduce their operating and maintenance costs

ACTION

Kay + Sons presented 3 options (in full size mock up sample form) and included a benefits and features analysis for each, complete with references from other colleges that the University contacted and learned from their experiences

RESULT

The University selected a solar shade as their new standard (replacing draperies) and as a result reduced their point of purchase costs, their operating and maintenance costs (as we negotiated a 25 year warranty for them with the manufacturer) and increased the aesthetic appearance of the exterior of their buildings; by providing uniformity throughout each building, as well as the campus
